We have celebrated more than 30 years of service to the equine community in PA. Over the years we have offered more benefits and broadened our scope of activity in response to the needs and desires of our membership. Please take a moment to review the things we do and the opportunities that come with your membership:

The PEC Equine Learning Center & PEC Informational Booth – are designed to attract and educate new and potential horse owners. The PEC sets-up and manages an informational booth whenever and wherever possible, in some cases with a live horse, to provide free sound, science-based information to aid in our goals of responsible equine ownership. In addition, we provide answers to those new to equine ownership and to those thinking about joining our ranks of equine owners in PA.

The Trail Stewardship Program – In a three-tiered educational outreach platform, our Program informs trail users about working cooperatively with state and federal land managers; along with assisting in the repair and maintenance of shared trails. The Program helps to assure continued equestrian access to the public lands in Pennsylvania.

Legislative – PEC works to inform law makers about the equine industry through direct contact. The PEC Legislative Committee provides our members information about policies and regulations that may affect them; while not offering legal advice, we assist in possible solutions to issues of interest to the equestrian community. Large membership numbers increase attention from elected officials.

Annual Meeting and Forum – Every Fall, the PEC hosts an event that provides a variety of equine-related discussions and seminars presented by recognized experts in their fields. Information booths, refreshments and a silent auction help make this event fun, as well as educational.

Board of Director Meetings – These meetings are scheduled five times throughout the year, in various parts of the state. All are welcome to attend these meetings.

Networking and Camaraderie – Our County Directors keep the network open between the board and the local community; if this is something that you find interesting, why not check into becoming a county director. Horse folks love to talk with other horse people! As a PEC booth volunteer, you will have the opportunity to meet and get to know equine lovers from across the state; even out of state! Volunteers are called upon several time throughout the year to work any of the events that the PEC sponsors, including our large booth at the Pennsylvania Horse World Expo. If you have volunteered in the past, THANK YOU; if you have not yet, please consider doing so. WE CANNOT DO WHAT WE DO WITHOUT YOU!
